Do I really need a tune up on my Heat Pump?
The following is guest post from Torry and Sons plumbing and heating here in Nanaimo. I am hoping this is the first of many as they have a good reputation and have lots of knowledge and expertise to share which is why I am pleased to have them guest post on my blog:
Your Heat Pump works hardest in the coldest days of winter and the warmest days of summer. While it is currently neither extreme – It is the perfect time to have a qualified technician inspect your system to ensure it is operating safely and efficiently. So, why do you have a mechanic do a tune up and oil change on your car? So you can make sure that it is operational when you need it most and avoid larger problems and costly repairs. It is no different for your Heat Pump. A maintenance visit will check for a clean filter, adjust blower components, lubricate where required, clean evaporator coils, tighten electrical connections, clean condensate drains and test safety controls.
A review of the thermostat programming will ensure that the system is meeting the maximum efficiencies, which will in-turn, save you money on your heating and cooling bills. A yearly service is suggested to ensure that your system is operating at the maximum efficiency and that will save you money. What could be better than saving money on operating costs and ensuring your family’s safety?
Torry and Sons Plumbing and Heating’s specially trained technicians can provide a Service visit for any make or model of heat pump and also provides Emergency Service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A service on your Heat Pump can be booked as a one time visit or for a reduced
price there is a 2 or 3 Safety and Efficiency Agreement.
