Myths of Real Estate: #4 The Importance of Assessed Value

Like the other topics covered in this series, this is something that comes up quite often. A client will ask about or mention a property’s assessed value, and I explain quite briefly that it’s not a very reliable indicator of actual value. There’s a lot to explain to support this view so these days I refer them to a post I did a while ago.

Perhaps this is cheating, but this is one of a handful of posts that I keep referring clients to, so I think it is worth referring to within blog as well.
